I dont hate you joe. I just think youre wasting your equipment and helping the rate stay down by moving it for free.
Pay got too low for my time so i quit. I am at home with my kids every day now working on the homestead. If all i can make amounts to what my wife can make entry level, then she can go to work and i can get back to working on the house.
Do whatever you want. But wanting for govt to come in and fix the brokers end of bad rates while you are their partner in it is just ... I dunno. Its something.
A cut throat 3PL has no power without a dollar hauler to send back the ratecon. And you are one of them.
You can choose to look at it as a matter of pride that you kept working without a handout, but then you must turn a blind eye to the concept that your working is contributing to the problem that you feel needs govt intervention. That is a real conflict in my opinion.
You think theyre gonna give you tools against the broker while ignoring that you are the tool thats gonna grant them permission to come in and wreck it all forever.
If you and all the others stop by choice or by bankruptcy, there will be no need to unleash the ravenous amoeba of govt.
And i hate unions.. But i have to admit.. If some wiser operators had power to park ALL the cheap trucks such as yours, this 68 cent offer BS woulda never even happened.

I think once that Tall guy Joe has a chance to clear his head from all that late night NETFLIX binging, he'll realize that the regulars here on this thread don't hate him

HA! Idk bout all that. If a man can’t learn from the past, he’s destined to repeat it, no?
About every thing I know, is from learning the hard way. Wish I would have read more books and learned more from those that went before me.SAR, 86scotty, Dale thompson and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ruthless Thanks this.

Now logically, let's say all of us sit and don't work, in unison. Like Solidarity in Poland 1980, which sounds very noble. But as soon as there is a sign of better rates, all these trucks will reemerge and we're back to the square 1. Too many trucks competing for the same freight. I don't really see a solution other than attrition. The rates are nobody's fault. That's the market. You can blame people wanting to buy trucks, adding trucks and drive trucks but once they acquire them, then here they are. Rates are out of your control. My 1.16 per mile has nothing to do with how low they are. I took what I could take. If I can get 4 dol per mile, I won't hesitate to take it.Truckermania, Adegon and mladen86 Thank this. -
I don't even know what to say. lol
One thing for sure, Joe I don’t hate you man. Actually quite the opposite. I can appreciate people with opposing views.
Far as the $2/mi freight. I’m not satisfied with that at all. That is my break even. I just understand it must get to $2 before it gets to $3/mi.
I don’t want regulation for people running to cheap. I’m not one of those play on this side of the coin but be a hypocrite about the other side. Now, do I hope they go broke running $1/mi sooner then later? YES. You understand, it’s just the way it is. When those people are gone we’ll be back to the money.
I understand somewhat your thinking on it, but it’s conflicting to me because I don’t want to see you be one of those broke guys, since in fact, I DO like you.Truckermania Thanks this. -
Everybody gotta do what they gotta do. One man's conviction is another man's folly.
Dale thompson, Adegon, whoopNride and 3 others Thank this.
