I am at a clinic... almost done with a DOT physical....
    20200505_154011.jpg
this is the most superficial DOT physical I have ever done in my life.
They asked me to p in the cup and checked my temp, my heart beat, blood pressure, my long distance vision, my hearing, my ears very quickly... but didn't put anything in my mouth to check my throat or in my nostrils.... didn't even have that little "hammer" to check the reflexes on my knees and elbows... and didn't ask me to squat or bend over or move my body this or that way, touch my feet with my hands or walk on my toes...none of that...:biggrin_25512:
This may be because of the virus?
The nurse who performed the test on me wasn't even wearing her uniform... just regular street clothes.... Didn't seem very professional.... but I'm not complaining...just found it not to be as thorought as all the other DOT physicals I have done before.
    BTW, I passed...

Most of my physicals focus on the hearing. Audiogram takes care of most of them.

FMCSA has already ruled that companies are allowed to be more stricter and not hire those who need glasses to see or hearing aids to hear. A form of legal discrimination based on the idea that a company may be more strict than minimum DOT medical requirements. Im used to it.

Most of the time the DOT doctor does not bother to really examine me. If he or she did they would have probably uncovered a few things. I don't hide much of anything. I came, they saw, they signed and done.

I consider myself lucky. But we have a little more work medically to go yet.

A very long time ago in 1991 or so during a winter DOT exam which BTW included a alcohol screen. I was dry. Doc came up and told me to drink this and stand out side in the -20 10 minutes.

    Still dry.

30 minutes pass. Drink this and take that needle. Go back outside.

    Still dry.

    WTF?

I told them over and over and over keeping that left door shut on a dry bladder means making money all day without stopping. its a habit.

They then threatened me that if I don't wee in the next 20 minutes I will be billed 60 dollars for that hour and 120 the second hour and 240 the third when they close for the night. Now which is it going to be?

    BOOM the cup runneth over.

    SHEESH.

All that’s need now. One package of toilet paper. With that big tarp over it. :)

I think the difference may be because I was the one requesting the exam and paying for it and not a company.

Forget Johnson’s corner north of Denver. Till at least this covid19 lockdown is over. Best they had to eat is the frozen stuff with tons of preservatives. No thanks.
At Loves. Can’t believe how fast this place is filling up at 3:00pm

The Mako shark is actually one of very few sharks that has a urinary tract, so he doesn't pee his britches so to speak. Excellent eating. Comparable to swordfish. Tasty. If you ever find yourself in a coastal restaurant and that is the catch of the day, I highly recommend it.

If the company required lifting heavy weight... I wouldn't be able to do it. :biggrin_25512:
That's something I ask all potential companies before I go to orientation... Most companies nowadays want their drivers to go thru a physical aptitude test and show they can lift heavy weight... even if it's dry van, no touch load and drivers are not allowed to do any kind of repair or chain the tires....
