Side note to the thread. I went to the Kroger store with my wife and was stunned by all the half to three quarters empty shelves. Produce was in good shape except for sweet corn. I’m thinking that I’m living in a bad dream with severely limited freedom limited choice at the grocery store like a third world country.

I've heard that liquor sales are up everywhere with the lock down. All of March and into April, all I was hauling was wine or beer. Just got back from Oregon today after finishing a beer load.
I've heard that there is a large scale catastrophe happening right now. All of the beer kegs sent out in February are all going bad about now. They're locked up in closed bars and restaurants with no way to get them back until things open up. They don't use preservatives in keg beer, which is why they're always kept cold. What a waste. As my grandfather use to call a good cold draft beer, nectar of the Gods.Dale thompson, Midwest Trucker and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
My son-in-law is a train engineer, hauling lumber between mills, etc. He encountered this guy passed out on his route tonight

We aren't doing that great at the moment, all our lucrative oilfield contract work has stopped. We are pretty much doing local stuff for $2ish per mile to operate at a profit, but not much revenue at all. We can make it comfortably if long haul gets back to 1.70-1.80ish per mile. If this $1 per mile garbage is here to stay long term, this just isnt worth it.
We run only flatbed, but are considering vans/reefers. Might have some work coming up that will get us through this storm but its not 100% confirmed yet.
It really makes me sad to see all the people across this country get hurt by this. May we have better times soon. Good luck to all!86scotty, kemosabi49 and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
We were talking a couple days ago about the media creating the panic and hype over this pandemic. Here is a perfect example of how they do it. CBS news staged a testing facility at a Michigan hospital. They had hospital employees get in their cars and line up for the testing facility. While the virus is real, the hype has gone way overboard.
