When I was in 6th grade in Ohio, my history teacher invited us to his farm for a field trip. The first thing you notice was the high tension power lines running right over his barn and next to his house. He told us that when he worked in the barn, he let a small chain drag from his leg as a ground wire so he wouldn't constantly be shocked. Then he held up a fluorescent tube over his head, and it lit up. Five years later, he was dead from cancer.

You originally stated; “No, bitter because I pay the highest taxes in the nation to pay for those state jobs and all of the corruption that comes with them”
Then, when called on the inaccuracy of that statement you are pointing to personal income tax rates, not overall taxes paid or, commonly referred to as "tax burden." Just to start with, California's state income tax rates are marginal and progressive. That 13.3% is for any annual taxable income in excess of one million dollars. The 12.3% is for income in excess of roughly $600,000, up to one million. The less you earn, the smaller the percentage you pay in taxes. It's called progressive taxation and is the one of the cornerstones of a functional society. Do you not understand how the system works or do you think I'm dumb enough that you could sneak this by me?
California actually gets the lions share of it's income tax revenue from capital gains and a really high marginal rate on those with very high income.
As for property taxes, if you have owned commercial property for as long as you claim, you should be ecstatic at the property tax rates you are paying under Prop 13.
I also don't get your claim about expensive insurance. I consider mine to be quite reasonable, I pay about $200 per month to insure a property that generates over $6,000 in monthly rental income, if you go here; Average Car Insurance Rates By Age and State You can see that auto insurance rates in California are certainly not the highest in the country. My vehicles are all older and paid for, but I'm happy with my personal cost.
Then you go on to quote The Tax Foundation for its “combined sales and income tax leaders”
First of all, that is a suspect source Tax Foundation Figures Do Not Represent Typical Households’ Tax Burdens. These people obviously have a political agenda, and manipulate their narrative to further their agenda.
Second, they appear to be quoting tax rates, which is not the same as ones individual or a states overall tax burden. It's been 30 plus years since this was explained to me in college, but here's an example that I believe still holds true; Everybody whines that the U.S. has the highest income tax rates of any industrialized nation. That's true. What they don't mention is that although we have the highest nominal rates, our tax code is so laden with exceptions and provisions for special interests, that our effective tax rate (the amount we actually collect, typically expressed as a percentage of GDP) is about the lowest of any industrialized nation. (And those benefits, exceptions and loopholes benefit large corporations and the very wealthy almost exclusively)
Third, there are many other factors that enter into the calculation of the tax burden in a particular state or country, here's an alternative, and I believe, more accurate assessment; Tax Burden by State
I could deconstruct your entire post, word by word, delineating every inaccuracy, but I'd rather just remark that trying to fix BS with more BS isn't going to work any better than our current national policy of trying to fix debt with more debt.
I do totally agree with you about California's fuel tax.p608 Thanks this.
