A blob of polyurethane caulk will keep it from vibrating too much. Polyurethane, not silicone... not butyl rubber... not latex...

 

You do not want deep cycle batteries for that application at all.
On your regular truck air unit, is both fan motors working? It is pretty hard to tell unless you remove the seat and visually check, and if it is like my 97, only one comes on until you put the fan on high.
The way the ducting on these is set up sucks, and I have always thought a guy could do some insulating and improve the factory air a lot.

 

There are dual use batteries that are cranking and have deep cycle abilities. Ask your dealer I got them at my freightliner dealer. Charge ALL your batteries full and have them load tested. If they all don't pass. Replace them all with the same batteries. Disimilar batteries joined together does not work well, as having one bad one.

 

The one I had a long time ago o my used 350 watts. I think the surge to actually kick it on was 800.

That was 15 years ago but I can't imagine they've gotten power hungry since then.

 

That’s the problem I ran into. Have an 800 watt, I ran it on a 2000 Chinese Honda knockoff. It worked, occasionally tripped the breaker. But the portables draw more amps, per BTUs. I think they’re a waste of money. Barely kept the bunk or the Cab, cool during the day. Worked good at night, though. You should really consider a mini split. There’s a great thread on here. One mini split set up, seems to be the best I’ve seen yet. Not much more than a portable.

 

That’s the problem, smallest I could find was a 800 btu, single hose, it pulled as many amps as a larger btu window unit, it was a waste of money
