Man, it's a windy S-O-B here tonight in Thousand Palms, CA. I shut down for the night with 30 minutes left on my 14hr clock and 2:12 left on my 70hr clock. Back on to the recap after midnight. Got a fresh bag of In-N-Out in my hands and walking back to the truck.![]()

DING, winning comment. I understand your point to. I was just one of the young guys on the list. Guess who got the gravy? Not me. I recall being yelled at for taking to long on a clutch job. I was compaired to the golden boy of the shop. Yea he was good. But he had done about 60 clutch jobs in a row on brand new trucks when those solo clutches had a recall. I was doing a clutch in a 15 yearold 4900. Here is the kicker. It was a RR truck. It had a twin countershaft Spicer 10 speed, 2 Pto's, high rail gear, and big close to the ground tool boxes all over on that narrow frame chassis.
Beside getting to be a owner op, my past job with the wrecker service was most likely my favorite. I wrenched on them, and drove them. We did alot of road service, customer repairs and some custom work for select customers. But the wreckers, oh man they were treated like fire trucks. They could get dirty working, but better be tip top shinny and ready to go for the next job. The owner just retired couple months ago. He ran it over 51 years. His grand dad started it in 1927. We built equipment that you couldnt purchase. It was nothing to order expensive parts that were close to what he wanted and chop them up and make it work for us. -
Spoke to soon. Figures.
Bound for Richmond Virginia here in a little bit -
Lesson for @AModelCat is be careful, you may find yourself surrounded by school buses. Lol. -
No buses lol.

School buses are easy to work on. I've only ever worked on 1 coach bus. What a weirdo wagon that was. -
In all honesty I don't really know if I want to go back to stuff that drives on pavement. Apart from my own truck I haven't laid a wrench on a truck/trailer in over a decade. -
Morning gents. Easy day, heading out in a few to grab our 2 loads
