There is absolutely nothing keeping a private citizen from selling their house for below market value of they choose to. Same as people choosing to haul a load for less than their operating costs.
Brokers are thieves!!!

Brokers offering you a load is essentially a cash transaction, there are no banks involved. The only reason an appraiser is involved in a real estate transaction is because the BANK is covering their ###, they honestly don't care if you go bankrupt. A cash transaction real estate deal does not need an appraiser involved at all.
If I live in an 800k dollar neighborhood and am desperate enough to leave, and 400k gets me out of the mortgage, there is nothing stopping me from taking it. If 400k doesn't get you out of the mortgage the BANK doesn't let you sell for less, the realtor doesn't have a say either way.Long FLD Thanks this. -

You are right, there is nothing stoping you from taking it, but still controls in place for you to make that decision. You get to see who paid what, who sold for what, your agent gets to tell you if you have one. Things of that nature.
my main point is to stop brokerage firms from demanding owner operators to sign away their rights.
im not for price controls at all but I am for equal regulations. Trucking right now you might thing isn’t regulated but it is and it’s heavily regulated. All the burdens fall on the trucker. Every single thing that goes wrong the trucker has to fix it and or chase it down. While brokers don’t care.
That simple change of the rule that says brokers can’t have truckers sign their rights away and they can’t discriminate if they request transparency will fix some issues.
Remember you might be selling your house for 400k but it’s worth 800k the buyer has many tools at his disposal to know how much you paid for it, and the disclosures that are signed when selling makes you liable for any lies you have committed.
in other words the buyer can come after you many years on down the line if they choose.
and you can’t make them sign away any rights the buyer has. That’s why full disclosures are used on both sides. -

You’re acting like someone is forcing these guys to move a load if they don’t feel it pays enough. It’s their choice. Nobody is making them do it.
And the real estate argument is ridiculous because the agent isn’t buying your house with the hopes of reselling it to another party.dunchues, Brettj3876, PPLC and 1 other person Thank this. -

Screwed if you do Screwed if you don’t.
I’m not sure how you don’t see the issue with that. Essentially every mom and pop operation goes out the window.
I guess everyone’s looking out for their own interest and that is why trucking is dead. Owner operators are being squeezed out little by little.loudtom Thanks this. -
