Business people are resilient. They’ll bounce back quick. 100,000 really isn’t all that many when you think about it. Hell 25,000 of those are probably owner ops.

I’m not subscribing or buying into the doom and gloom with the economy. It’s the same as the media trying to blow corona up into the world is ending. Now they want you to think the economy is ending.

I hope you're right. I agree with you about people being resilient, but bounce back quick, nope.

Like I said earlier, 100k loss estimate is on the low side. Where one business is gone for good, if the service is in demand, another one will start up, at some point, to replace it....

I guess the word quick can be interpreted differently. Exactly like you said though, If the need is there someone will come in and fill that need fairly “quickly”. IMO. This year will be about restarting and rebuilding. Next year I think as long as there isn’t a second wave, things will be back going great. That’s also assuming there isn’t mail in voting this fall. ;)

Tourist towns are sweating bullets about now. Tour bus companies are having a rally in DC. Both are coming up on their busy season. If restrictions aren’t lifted fairly soon they stand to miss out on a ton of revenue.
If you look at each individual town or company that may not seem like a lot,but look at the whole industry and everything that goes to support it, then that’s a huge chunk of money taken out of the economy.

I know the grown ups at Landstar are nervous.

Personally I'd love to see the heard get trimmed by 400 or 500 or more trucks.

I'm quite certain it wouldn't be just the bubble gum and baling wire group either. So many people can't manage their money.

Now the same one's that get floated by LS or someone else will pull even cheaper garbage to try and pay their bills and debt, until they finally go belly up.

It is unfortunate for all the kids that count on mom and dad to bring home a check. Whether with a truck or a bus or cab or waitress gig.

I have 3 open trucks. Try that on for size. I’m advertising like crazy and nobody will call. Either 1. People are afraid to leave a job that’s keeping them working or 2. The couch pays #### good and they aren’t coming off it until the gov milk runs dry. Mean while the Dems are trying to extend it through Jan of 21. *Sigh*

It’s harder to get drivers right now then it was when things were booming. I think that says a lot. Thankfully the 7 that I have are all top notch and not going anywhere. They’ve actually made more money through this mess because of the more dead head.
