Wow that’s crazy. The top guys aren’t even able to hold on to there workers. How insane is that. I am truly blessed I found this place. My dad drives for FXF and he tells me all the time he’s glad I didn’t come over there. They are letting people go left and right. I made the right decision to pursue this company and stay here. He’s been there 24 years so he has nothing to worry about. Yea Alpha hows the hand. I’m assuming you should be healed up by now. Is not hope you are getting there

The hand has healed up nicely. The finger (middle finger) is about 1" shorter than the same finger on the other hand, but it has a good range of motion. Typing with that finger is a little odd as it doesn't have any feeling in the end of it.

The plant I pull out of slowed down their production but they haven't closed. The least hours I've had in the past 8 weeks is 53. We are back to our normal load count and then some, to the point we have had to hire another driver on this account, I just have to figure out a way to get along with him.

Well that’s good news. Hope it gets going. That means extra freight which means extra runs lol. House hunting was a breeze. We found a home in December. Closed on Jan 24. Didn’t think it was possible but we closed in 45 days on the spot. So we are loving it. Still unpacking but it’s getting there. We have a lot of stuff that we have acquired over the years from the Army. Also have our big puppy to break the house in as well. Cane Corso who just turned 5 months but he looks like he’s about 1 lol. So everything worked out fine despite this virus.

Don’t you hate when you have drivers like that. I had someone like that at my last job. Could t get along with him to save my life. Haven’t ran into anyone like that here at Cooper. So far everyone I have met and talked to is laid back and keep to themselves. 53 hours is till good. Our dock workers have gotten cut some hours. Some of them have been working like 5-8 hours compared to the 12 hours they were getting. City drivers have been getting cut like crazy so I’ve been told. This virus kept a lot businesses closed so there wasn’t as much freight for them to pick up. So some had 3 days off. Linehaul was able to keep working for the most part. Some of them got cut as well as teams. So it was fair across the board. Do y’all have overtime pay? I know we don’t.

Yes sir, we do. It's goofy math, but it's OT (1.5 times regular rate) if you work 48 or more hours AND it's retroactive to 40 hours. For example, if you work 47 hours, you get paid for 47 hours at the regular rate but if you work 48 hours, then you get paid for 40 hours at the regular rate and 8 hours at 1.5 times your regular rate.

We haven't slowed down much thanks in part to a skeleton crew they're always running around here. Lots of places have been changing hours and we're not delivering as much to old folks homes but for the most part still going strong
