My 86 Gutlass was lucky to see 17mpg. By the time I was 19 it was getting about 9mpg.

My brother says he has seen 30mpg in his 05 Vette.

 

I guess it's fake. For only women. That's what the girls said at least......they even said I have a nice rack ! ........pretty sure they are card carrying members of the rainbow collation!!

Ran a 09 5500 rollback that got 21mpg empty. But wasnt operated as designed. Was sold off at 300k

To be fair, the weight difference in your ram and my old caprice was just the 4 wheel drive!

Had a cousin that bought a olds new with one of those 350 rocket diesels that someone thought was a good idea around '80....it ran good and got around 24mpg....at 30k gm put in a new motor.....think it was a Caprice.

 

Those engine were a blunder for one simple reason. Gm skimped a fuel water separator due to cost. That is it. That diesel had the ability to change things. They sheet the bed with them.


Now if I recall it's the 350DX blocks with a 425 under turned crank and sonic testing it can go 451 cubes, gasser 6/7A heads and cut the fuel pump boss off. You have a bad mofo.

I lugged out 608 miles today from the Pilot in Madera, CA to the Flying-J in Wells, NV and just like @stwik said, "I'm pooped". I hate running that many miles when I'm over width as much as I am. At 12.0" wide and this cooling tower hanging over into each lane it is a mental beating running down the road.

 

With a cold Modelo Negra. Someone had an excellent day.
