My last home I paid 240k for the one I'm in now I bought about a year ago for $90,000 and could sell it today for around $140 or more.

it's about 1500 ft² and I have an extra lot next door to build a large 40x60 workshop on.

I have a brand new. Cost $290. 3,000 total feet.
New was cheaper and bigger then used. But the property is smaller. 56 wide 105 long.

They've been cramming em for years now. And starting to build more townhomes and apartments over homes.

Since this seems to be thread for gloom, merely as an update, I think as the days and weeks pass, this will go down as quite an event. I read today, Hertz is filing for bankruptcy( again) Big deal you say, I never rent a car,,Hertz cancelled 90% of their new car orders, GM alone supplies over half a million, the market will in turn, be flooded with used rental cars, further exasperating the issue. Unemployment for last week, has exceeded the Great Depression. Gonna be some tough sledding. In other news, ( to show how screwed up our system is) my brother got a stimulus check for my late uncle who died 18 months ago. He mailed it back. Oh, and another thing, people are getting bills from their insurance companies for $538 dollars for the virus test, that was, by law, SUPPOSED to be covered, but ins. co.'s found a loophole. Nice, hey?

God some of you all are a group to run away from. I’m thoroughly depressed every time I click on this thread. I think people see what they want to see. The media wants us all to believe it’s the end of the world and that things never were good.

Now maybe some would say I’m just blind to all the terrible boogey men hiding behind the corner. Not really, I just don’t subscribe to the world is ending narrative. I actually believe in our administration that they’ll work 24 hrs a day to do everything they can to right the ship.

I never said the world was ending, I just think this is going to be a rude awakening for many. 5 figure automobiles, 4 figure rentals, $150,000 dollar road tractors, houses the Shah of Iran would live in , gonna come to a schreeching halt. There just isn't enough money in the world for everyone to be millionaires. An old timer told me once, being through the depression, he said, "isn't half a loaf of bread better than none at all"? Apparently not in this day and age. I don't watch the TV news, you'd have to be an idiot to think it's all true, but some alternative news sites offer some interesting takes on what's happening. I was like you, "we'll be fine", but as this unfolds, I think you may retract your words.

I wasn’t necessarily talking about you, or anyone for that matter in particular. Just the overall sentiment.

I don’t see much changing, but I don’t disagree with everything you just said. But, the price of new trucks or cars is not going to decrease. At best it’ll temporarily quit increasing.

I think the power of positive thinking is just that, powerful. Negative thinking can be just as powerful. However, I do always plan for the worst and have large cash reserves and high percentages of equity in my equipment. Maybe that’s why I’m not that worried.

Edit: Also, trucking can do great in bad times and poor in good times. I think the cyclical Way of trucking isn’t going to change or stop.

It must be in a rough area of Tampa for that price. I know in St Pete you can't find much under 200 that's not old beat and in a rough area.
