Recently I visited flying j in black river falls,WI. Like all truck stops driver lounge closed, dennys take out only. The drink section is run by staff. However despite this the gaming room was open. Why would the gaming room be open but everything else isn’t?. This doesn’t make sense.

I think it's the Wisconsin governor out there.
I just sat down and ate Thursday at the dennys
    In Salt Lake City.

This is a flying j not an Indian run casino.

It’s likely Flying J doesn’t own the gambling room. And if it’s ran by a tribe they can do what they want.

Gaming room at the Flying J in Gretna, NE was also open last night with the driver's lounge roped off. Didn't go into Denny's to see what they were doing

Well I learned something new about the game rooms. I always thought that it was PFJ owned and they just redeemed earnings in the store. I never really paid much attention to those rooms.

It probably depends on the state and what’s required to have one. Some states, like South Dakota for example, you only need a liquor license in order to have video gaming. Other states it’s only allowed if it’s tribal owned. I have no clue about WI or NE and what’s required, I was only guessing since they allowed the gambling to stay open.

All the casinos in Wisconsin are Indian owned. Probably goes for the game room types too.
