I never thought about this company due to talking to one of their drivers about 5 years ago. At the time, he said they "hire 5 and fire 5 all the time over there". I sent them an email to get some information. My parents live about an hour away from their terminal.

Walmart was hiring of sorts tho I dont see the usual ads. Schneider and Prime were looking for dedicated drivers (precovid) to haul for Walmart based in Lewiston. Said drivers were via an account. Also said drivers would cover loads out of Lewiston's wharehouse for any Walmart in Maine.

I wanted in on these accounts. Yet to get hired by the mega, they didnt want you to go immediately to work on that said account. Nope you are to turn national miles for 3 months and then you "might" get desired account. Pass

Hartt requires a year experience. I haven't contacted Hirschbach. I may contact Big M.

Have you looked into dry bulk? Try hanging out at a redi mix plant and get company names. Out west there's enough turnover in pneumatic that companies offer training programs. You'd do better with am A and all endorsements.

Dirt hauling and mix truck are B, some companies have semi dumps and might help you leap.

Update and more questions. I heard about an app called "Lane Finder" and it listed companies in the Bangor, Maine area via zip code. One of those companies is Bayside Transport. I talked to them in December during a visit to their company. We had a nice little information meeting and seemed in a rush to get my application process started but I had a commitment to the school bus company (There is a School Bus Driver shortage also). I got a call from the company today and they asked me to apply. The manager didn't remember me but I remembered him. The question I have is what is a reasonable starting wage (Cents Per Mile) for a class A driver without 12 months experience. When I talked to them, they were offering 36 CPM starting out. They didn't offer any decent health benefits but I am okay that as I get my healthcare from the Veterans Administration. It would driving in New England and Eastern Canada. I have my passport too. Any questions I need to ask in an official interview if or when it is scheduled? It is flatbed and I know I will have to do some physical labor in all kinds of weather.

Cents-per-mile isn't the only pay factor.
I made $65K every year at .36 cpm, because the accessorial pays were added to that.
    Ask about accessorial pays.

H.O. Wolding. Solid company. Ran all 48, can run wherever you want. Had a NE regional when I worked there, if that's your thing.
