BUT
He could have cited you for a moving violation for your tandems being over 40 feet.
So you got a good break there.
If you're tandems were set properly, you probably never get the inspection and roll through.
Not very often are they going to give you a clean inspection if they have you dead to rights on something.
He said that didn't bother him. It did, or you'd not been there.speedyk, Vic Firth, Trucker61016 and 6 others Thank this. -

TheLoadOut and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

It was behind the arrow and it weighed over. I took the load back and made them remake it so I could slide it forward to where I thought was the legal spot.
He told me its best to keep it at about the 4th hole, which seems kind of far up.
I dont know. Whatever. ill get a tape measurer and double-check it next chance I get.
Edit: the center-rear axial is in front of the arrow. It was a heavy load. It took me 8 hours to go through the vail from Denver to GJ. Uphill like 25mph. Then downhill at 40, 8th gear. 9th gear engine rpms went into red.Last edited: May 25, 2020
Vic Firth Thanks this. -
500, yea i think is one too far. I measure mine if it's that close.
Typically kingpin is set 3 feet back. So 43 feet from front of trailer.
That coup sucks. So does Banning, and all the rest, and every other aspect of the communist state -
Put this on your airlines and not get another chafed violation.
magoo68, Long FLD, Blue Zombie Trucker and 5 others Thank this. -

I was about 6 inches too far back then. So yeah, 1 hole. Lol
