I agree, everything taking a #### is exactly what our foes like China want. I believe we’re going to get back to business just fine and I’m looking forward to the next upswing of big rates. In Sept 2018 I called the beginning of the down turn and said the beginning of the next upswing would be Sept to Dec range of 2020. Even with covid I still fully believe that. Yes, volume may be lesser then without covid but there is goi g to be less trucks then without covid as well.

Some people can keep up with the doomsday while I position to get back to the money.

Well, yes and no. I like your optimism, but this is different. So much money has been lost in revenue from people not working, or spending, we haven't seen an nth of what will happen. Just the lack of the Indy 500 ( postponed until Aug. 23 and the CDC doesn't even want that) lost revenue from sports is huge, peoples businesses that will never return, or at a greatly diminished rate. Some places, like bars, need to be packed, and a social distancing won't work. I see lots of motorhomes with for sale signs in vacant restaurant parking lots here. Sure, things will come back, eventually, but if another wave of this crap hits, as predicted, and I'm sure it will, going to be worse yet. We can't apply "what we went through in the 70's", to this. This is uncharted, and like I say, going to get a lot worse, before it, if ever, gets better.

I know this is the "doom" thread, but I read today, California, is going to be hit the hardest. Already facing a $54 billion dollar deficit, the worst in history. $54 billion, think about that, and that's just California. There are so many tourist attractions, #1 in the country, that have been so affected by this, they say it will never come back. Unemployment has topped the Great Depression already( and we're not even done yet) I say, we've been skirting disaster for years, I think the fun is going to come to a screeching halt. The REAL money will be in "For Sale" signs,,,like I say, people will be standing around burn barrels in tattered rags, talking about the "Good Ol' Days",,when people spent $15,000 dollars on a restored VW bus.:biggrin_25512:

Largest percentage increases now are in the southeast, Alabama, Mississippi especially, along with Ga., and the Carolinas. It’s only half over, but the idea that things will never come back is rediculous. Others will fill the void for those that fail. It may take a while, maybe 18 mos. But to say it’s never going to be the same. I don’t believe it. Never is a long time.
