When I owned my own equipment I liked using Sheaffers oil. Better oil samples and I don’t think I can prove it (in a for sure scientific way) but I picked up a little fuel mileage replacing engine , trans , diffs with there brand oils fully synthetic oils that is. Google it I think they only sell through independent dealers.

Delvac @ Wally World. Always on a roll back, $10.50 or so, a gallon. Filters from Freightliner Dealer, .preferably Detroit Fiters, sometimes cheaper than Fleetguard. And Lucas grease. It’s worth a couple xtra bucks.

I will most likely go with Delvac as well, thats what im looking towards. Which Delvac did you use? 10W30? etc... Full synthetic?

    for example - Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super 15W-40
    MOBIL DELVAC 1300 CK-4 15W-40, 5 Gallon Pail

Also are you putting in 47 quarts or 41 quarts? 4 quarts to a gallon, meaning 47 quarts = 11.75 gallons? 11 galons and 3 quarts

15w40, pretty much Industry standard. They also have Rotella, and Delo. It’s the same oil, just different additives.I usually go 20k, , but since I had some sludge issues, and recently had an OH, I’m going back to 15k, Might be better choices for you, especially with extended intervals, and synthetic options. I had been using a lot of Lucas, up to 3-4 gallons between changes. Before that though, I never had a sludge issue. However I’ve heard, and do believe that Rotella will keep an engine cleaner, they claim Delvac has silicone type additives, that put a film on everything. I don’t know. Old way was Rotella for Cats, and Delvac for Detroit’s. So I stick with that. Hasn’t failed Me yet.Always a head gasket or dropped liner. Never oil related.

I appreciate your help, I use Mobile 1 on all my cars. What truck do you have, mine is 2015 cascadia DD13 and i plan on every 20k miles. Seems like I will stick to the Delvac full synthetic 15w40. Ive hearfs 47 quartz, ive heard 41 quartz. DD15 uses 47 i believe.

I’m pretty sure my 12.7 takes 10 gallons, sometimes a little more, if I get a good drain. I always pre fill filters, very important.
