So i like swift it's been good to me the month I've been on my own. But this dash cam is making me insane, I want to be a better driver so I understand but its already got me (mostly following distance) 17 events on the camera. How many until they take action? Do they even do anything?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Following too close is a big no-no. You need to make an effort to stop doing that. They will not continue to tolerate that.

17 events in a month is not good, and it might get you fired.
If they have not fired you yet, you need to slow down a bit and be more patient in your driving.
The longer you go without an event the more your safety score will improve, and the more they will see that you are trying.

We all have those cars and trucks that pull right in front of us and then just slow down and hover there.
You need to back off the speed a few mph to gain some room more quickly. Stay too close for more than a few seconds and it will trigger an event.
You need to more actively control things that might trigger an event.

I don't think I have had coachable events more than twice in any month since the system was put in.
Most months there are none at all.

There are 2 places for the scores.
One is in the Portal in the Driver Safety Score section.
The other is in the Drivecam (Lytx) screen.
They are based on a different set of metrics.
My Drivecam score is 0 for the past 90 days, which means I had no coachable (and/or unresolved) drivecam events in that time.
My Driver Safety Score is 2, because I went over the 8 hour clock once back in April.

Positive points are bad, 0 or negative points is good.
As to how many of either will get someone fired, I don't really know. So it is best to keep both as low as possible.

I do know that 6 drivers from my terminal were fired in the past month for unsafe driving habits.
A message went out on the QC last week saying that with the better weather drivers were getting more careless with following distance, speeding, going around turns too fast and other things.
And I am at one of the smaller terminals.

I believe once you hit 85 points , safety gets Involved then get terminated. some things your dl can fix. talk to him or her about it. never to safety lol.
if you know you are too close hit your brakes, camera won't go off. get in the habit of counting seconds between you and car in front.
if a car pulls in front of you and keeps gling then the camera won't go off. it's when they cut you off and don't. move that.gets you. so hit the brakes
same thing for speeding. a think it's a minute b4 recording. but once you hit 69 hit the brakes.
