Nikola is going public on stock exchange in a few weeks after merging with VectoIQ Aquisitions. Cheap buy in right now for something that could have the long term potential of Tesla(This is not stock advice. Use your head). Supposedly it has enough power to maintain 65 mph up a 6% grade with 80k#. Interesting interview as info.

That article is almost 4 years old. I’m not stating that anyone should invest in it, simply that the company is going public and for those with a long game point of view, there could be huge potential. Is it a risk? Yes, as with any potential investment, hence me saying use your head. Diesel is not the future, and you can scoff at that if you want but for some of us young pups, a few hundred invested now could be a nice retirement someday. Nikola has built recent relationships with some major manufacturing companies who now have a vested interest in their success. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

On 10 years they MAY have a truck

1st it was to be 2,000 he pure electronic truck. Lots of hype. Took orders.... oops couldn't make it work

2nd it was going to be a 1,500 hp hybrid. Mini Natural gas turban like the Walmart showed truck.... oops couldn't make that work...

3rd 1,000 hp Hydrogen fuel cell..
IF they can make this work it will use MORE DIESEL than new trucks use now.... that right because it doesn't use CLEAN hydrogen made from Natural gas it is made to only use DIRTY hydrogen made from diesel...
So it can only be fueled at 1 of THEIR fuel stops. They say they will only build 50... that's 1 per state plus 1 extra for CA and TX..... and only a 800 mile range...!!! Should make the Logistics of just getting fuel a nightmare..

The daycab Version what's supposed to be on the road last year with the highway truck was to be on the road this year..

To-date they have built only 2 NON road drivable highway prototypes 1 red and 1 white... the white 1 had to be TRAILERED out to the Desert for the US Xpress photo shoot then it was trailered back.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

“In 10 years they MAY have a truck”

This statement is pure speculation. Once again I reiterate my previous statement of “long game”. I have over 30 years before I retire. Pretty sure that my $10 buy in shares will be worth more than that by then. They’ve tripled in the last week, so apparently I’m not the only one feeling this way.

“1st it was to be 2,000 hp pure electronic truck. Lots of hype. Took orders.... oops couldn't make it work

2nd it was going to be a 1,500 hp hybrid. Mini Natural gas turbine like the Walmart showed truck.... oops couldn't make that work...”

You mean to tell me a company that’s doing something nobody has ever done before didn’t get it right on the first couple tries? Wow. What a concept. Bet they won’t learn from their mistakes and will never get it working, right?

“IF they can make this work it will use MORE DIESEL than new trucks use now.... that right because it doesn't use CLEAN hydrogen made from Natural gas it is made to only use DIRTY hydrogen made from diesel...So it can only be fueled at 1 of THEIR fuel stops. They say they will only build 50... that's 1 per state plus 1 extra for CA and TX..... and only a 800 mile range...!!! Should make the Logistics of just getting fuel a nightmare..”

Do you have any recent evidence of any of this or did you make it up? From what I’ve read, the only things you wrote here that are true is the range and that they require the use of their own fuel stops.

There are a number of ways hydrogen can be made, but as far as I’m aware, they are all Hydrogen molecules and combust the same. I’m a truck driver and not a chemist, so perhaps I’m wrong in this.

What’s so bad about using their fuel stops? Fuel is included in the price of the lease and your claim of 50 stops is simply false. The Nikola Motors site has a graph showing all of the proposed sites, plus the company has stated that if a customer requires additional sites for their purposes, it will be provided. To be fair, I’m sure that applies to corporate customers only and not an individual. Also, how long did it take Tesla to get their super chargers installed across the country? How long did it take for 3rd party superchargers to become available? Surely they must be available everywhere now?

“To-date they have built only 2 NON road drivable highway prototypes 1 red and 1 white... the white 1 had to be TRAILERED out to the Desert for the US Xpress photo shoot then it was trailered back.”

A prototype from 4 years ago wasn’t functional? Isn’t that the very definition of “prototype”? It was a preliminary model still in development. They are still a pre-revenue company. So much hate... I’m done. Have a good day, sir.

You can make Hydrogen out of water. It's pretty simple to do. Did it in 8th grade chemistry. creating fuel isnt the issue. getting it where it needs to be might.

true BUT hydrongen made from water is not chemically the same as hydrogen made from Natural gas (clean hydrogen) or hydrogen made from diesel (dirty hydrogen) and a fuel cell can't use just any hydrogen but only the hydrogen (clean or dirty) that it is made for

The space program uses water base hydrogen fuel cells... the fuel cells will not work with with any other hydrogen.

maybe if you had been followed this truck from the first debuted you would know more about it.... how they keep changing how it's going to be powered. How they keep partnering with this and that company (always a press release) then changing companies... still have only built 2 prototype's and both are not capable of pulling an empty trailer on the road 50 miles... the daycab was to be built in 2018....!! and tasting was to start in 2019 (haven't built 1 yet) and production in 2020....!

The otr truck it due out in 14 months... well original it should have been on the road in 2018....

And have you even LOOKED at the truck....??? Only 1 door (sliding door) on the driver side and to get to it you must get out of the seat and go around it to get to the door... thats right only 1 door and it's BEHIND the drivers seat...
