I've been around, and am pretty good at detecting BS. Some companies have undeserved bad reps, some drivers are whiners, and you can't please everyone.

That said, I'm calling BS on 'the fake story.' Sounds like someone trying to cover up inexcusable behavior. The OP's story rang true to me.

And, Tater...since when? The majority of office personnel I've seen are fatcat businessmen or green college kids who wouldn't know a truck if one ran over them. I think you're living in the past there, friend.

This "template" can be applied to well over 90% of the
"My Company Screwed Me" threads.
More Companies should "troll" message boards and speak their side of these incidents.

I agree there are "some" bad companies doing bad business,but again I read more truth in this reply then I do in the OP's Self Exclusion report.

 

Exactly. I have been screwed a number of times by lying thieving employers. And the thing that strikes me the most, is the speed at which "the real story" jumps in there to protect his sullied reputation.
Any company.....let me re-phrase that:
Any GOOD company wouldn't waste their time coming onto a forum to protect their reputation. There wouldn;t be a need to.
Hell, people would be fighting in the streets to get a job there, kinda like my current employer.
Like I said, one of my pet peeves is shyster employers who use any reason to screw their employees....

Tater, since I got hired on by the best LTL company in the world, I've become a Company Man through and through. But even I wouldn't dismiss a driver's complaint out of hand like you seem to do. Either you've been with a good company so long you've forgotten what this industry is like, or you spend more time at an office computer than at the wheel.

One thing that strikes me as BS here is that 'the fake story' makes no mention of whether or not they screwed the guy out of his rightfully earned pay. (I'm sure they didn't. No company would ever do that, right? (/sarcasm) )

Could have been making excuses to cover his own butt.........or a MADE-UP story.

I give OP more credence that the "REEL Story", only because I have worked for jerks just like that.

I'm not "all in" on either side,but the return volley rings much more truth then the OP's original rant.

What directed the "Company" or a self imposed Rep there of to this forum ?

Couldn't have possibly been from a foot stomping crybaby making idle threats of "going public" with their version of the "truth",because they are "in fact" the industry poster child of a spoiled CDL school grad with a belief system based on "Entitlement"

Never threaten a Company! you force their hand and they will defend themselves,doesn't mean they'll do it with the highest level of integrity but do it they will.

Employees lacking work ethics or ability will compound
any issue,payroll or otherwise.

 

The thing that was never address by Mr. Story is why the driver was never paid for orientation, why his training pay suddenly went from $400.00 to $350.00 after numerous complaints of pay shortage. If the pay dropped, why not tell that on the first phone call.

Also, if D.R. was just trying to straighten out a payroll error, why had this same error been going on week after week with no resolution. Either someone who claims to know the real story is lying, or they have the most incompetent payroll department in trucking.

And a man AND a woman (who obiviously is anything but a lady) telling someone to "Get the F### Out" is a real professional way to run a business. Nice morals you all have there. Shows a total lack of breeding.

I don't know the whole truth, but the parts I listed sound true enough for me. I have seen such lowlife actions enough to believe that part. The driver may not have made a good driver, who knows, but these kind of actions by company personell are totally trash like.
