Hoovestol bought our company in 2013. Some changes I didn't like, some I did.
My understanding is that all the Pat Salmon operations people will remain. So the think it will mostly be business as usual.
One thing I can think of is turning as many routes into relays as possible. For example Indianapolis to Charlotte. Driver from Charlotte goes half way, so does Indy. Swap, go back, deliver, go home. Wayne Hoovestol likes to get as many drivers home daily as possible.

I like the being home daily part but I am running a team run. I am out 3 days and home 4 days which gives me more time to hang out with my grandkids.

There’s a ton of money to be made owning a contract. There anywhere from 500,000 on up to over millions. Depending on how far you drive of course. I’ve only been with this company now 6 months. I got out of the O/O gig. I have already made them almost 225,000 dollars in six months! That’s just me in one of there trucks. People keep it hush and there hard to get. Keep in mind you will have to have your own trailers, Atleast two trucks. The mail doesn’t stop so you’re going to be working six days a week. If one of your trucks break down you need a backup, or you need to rent one ASAP! You will need to register for a dun # Its a lot of work, but there is a ton of money in it!!! A Eagle Driver I know, his contract pays him 5.10 a mile.

Anyone have info on Midwest transportation Inc (M.I.T) out of louisville (Pendleton ,Ky). They are hiring drivers for night shift. 21.74 plus $5.32 for benefits. Says on the Ad driver averages about 84k a year. How does the postal pay works?

The government determines how many hours each run pays and what amount is paid per hr. Anything over 40 hours, the $5.32 is not paid, it is only paid for 40 hrs . Not all runs are paid the same hourly amount. When I hauled the mail I was paid holiday pay and breakdown pay and I think this was mandated by the government.

I liked hauling the mail. You got a time to leave, a time to arrive, no BS about it. The schedules are tight, ain't no time to drag your feet. The weather no matter how bad, you are going. If you go into a hub, you will help unload and load, but no problem, the mail is in cages or carts on wheels so you push them off or on.

Isn't Midwest now owned by the same company who owns Pat Salmon and Eagle? I am trying to think of their name. Aren't they are changing the name over to 10 Road or something like that.

    Bfr38 and sevenmph Thank this.
