    Hi,

I’m waiting in a motel in Nashville to meet up with my Western Express trainer and he called me a bit ago asking for my name and driver code (you use the code to login to the truck and to go on duty, etc) and I texted it to him not thinking much of it, but now I’m a bit concerned; my first impression I got from him is he wants to wrap up my required 100 hours of training asap and now I’m worried he plans to log in under my name while he’s driving for this reason; furthermore, he hasn’t even responded after I asked him what he needed that information for. I’d love to be wrong, but are there any precautions I should take to protect myself just in case? I don’t know where he is right now but he’s not in Nashville, so surely anyone who looks close enough should see I’m not on that truck right now.

    Best regards, John

If western express uses the qualcolmn then he needs more than just your driver number to log in. When i was at swift, they needed your social security number to log in as a password i think. Cant really remember to be honest, anyways i dont think hes stupid enough to try something like that. More than likely the company knows your in a motel bc they r probably paying for it but if you show up driving howmany miles away on ur assigned trainers truck, lets just say hes gonna have to go train somewhere else.

I know nothing of how Western Express works but he may just need it for paperwork he needs to fill out. As far as not answering back if its only been a few hours he may be sleeping and not answering anyone.

    Coffey and farmerjohn64 Thank this.

I agree with what Mountain Trucker said. To log in to the Qualcomm, your driver code and a password (often based on SSN) is needed.

    Correct.
You can also change the password to anything you like.

    I tried that once.
Didn't turn out so well at some point, so it is again the last 4 of my SSN.

    So...
Never give out your SSN to anyone.

If you are still concerned, just call the Western express safety dept. they can pretty easily tell if you are logged in or not.
