Provided where you're going in Chicago is the location of your home terminal where you hired on at, at least then they couldn't try to say you stole the truck

It is already done, but you should have never given a notice. Now you have a problem. You can deadhead to Chicago, which I would do, but then there are consequences that you might face. If you do, make sure you have enough fuel, no doubt they can track you with the ELD, Pre-Pass and Easy Pass. If you do, disable every device that is capable of tracking you.
There is a chance that you could be stopped for "Unauthorized Use Of a Motor Vehicle". You realize that what money is owed to you, you can forget. As I said, never "show your hole card" until the game is over.Lonesome and truckdriver31 Thank this. -

They are losing money also by having truck sit. So I would wait them out a couple more days and see if they get load

Give them 2 options and do not cower.
1) Get me a load back to Chicago..today.
2) See #1
Personally, I wouldn’t ask for permission to bring it back, I’d just do it. Just be prepared to pay the fuel if they shut off your card.Grouch and truckdriver31 Thank this. -

Time to step up and be a man. They "won't authorize" you? LMFAO. Are we grown ups or little kiddies? I'll authorize myself.Lonesome and truckdriver31 Thank this.
