Sounds like the main box range splitter may be bad since nothing happens in the low side. Pushing the shifter into neutral when coasting will take a super 10 box out, as they have a tendancy to try to jump into the low side as soon as the shifter hits neutral.

I'm not sure I see how that would have done anything, I can go down the road in 10th at 70 and switch to low side and nothing will happen at all, unless i slow down and burp the fuel. If it's not ready to go, it just won't go until it is. There is a spinning sound usually while it waits for the rpms to lower enough to fall into place during normal shifting. -
I am talking about the main box. When in neutral, and you move the shifter back and forth, the noise you hear is the range selector in the transmission changing from low to high and back.
If at any time you move the shifter to neutral and not hold it to the right, while traveling over twenty MPH, you will most likely cause the transmission to go into low range. This can cause major damage. -
Why wouldn't that apply to floating the gears?? I'm in neutral a lot, can't get from one gear to another without going through it?
-
The super10 has two ranges. A high / low main box range that is changed when the shifter is moved to the right, and a splitter box on the rear that changes range when you move the button on the side of the shifter.
-
When you do this with a super 10, most times the shifter will move left, causing the transmission to go into low main box range, damaging the sycros and overspeeding the gears inside. -
I see, I didn't catch the part about holding it to the right.
I still don't think so... it's possible after coasting that that could have happened or risked making something worse, but whatever actually happened it did it on it's own. I did try and fumble with 8th, 9th, 10th when 10th crunched out, but that was just in case it was just the one gear doing it. I definitely did not try any of the lower gears at that speed. Wasn't until I was parked that I tried them out including reverse, which does nothing as well. -
Whatever happened, the transmission is broke, and will have to be taken out and repaired or replaced.
I hate it for you, but this will not fix its self. -
Pharm, you need to sell everything you have, and cut your loses. Go drive for someone. Your repairs are stupid rookie mistakes, that if you actually knew what you were doing, wouldn't happen if you ask me. I sure don't know it all, but I know guys like you are no good to this industry. Hauling your cheap freight is also hurting some of the others as well. Although they might not say it, you are. Go back to something you know, or do things the right way. I mean how hard is it to Get Out And Look? Just my opinion.
SweetSouthernRide Thanks this. -
Trying engaging your differential lock and see if it moves like that!
