I stopped reading after snowflake... I consider NOT flashing the high beams at someone a professional courtesy. I'm not sorry that you don't like my opinion. And I'm NOT sorry that I speak my mind. So if you want to rip apart what I say as something a "snowflake" would do, have at it... I made my comment in a very general view and I didn't think I had to be specific and publish a thesis on my driving habits in a step my step format so you might understand my common sense logic. Have a nice life... I've said my piece.

Just say NO to BRIGHT LIGHTS.

I do find it confusing that drivers hit the high beams instead of turning the lights off and then back on. My truck has a button on the steering wheel for that. Don't they get blinded themselves by other drivers and realize it? Maybe they don't pass...
jinxutoo, longhaultransport, Coffey and 2 others Thank this. -
Pretty sure they know when to get over. I don't really see the point in it or how its helpful. Some trucker going 75mph blowing past me doesn't need my help

This goes back years. Originally a Courteous Driver wouldn’t come back over, until lights were flashed off, as a sign of respect. Everyone has a different comfort level, I don’t like when they cut back too soon, and throw a rock up from the road and hit my windshield.

If I flick my tail lights at you... It means "Thank You."
If I briefly turn my head lights off... It means "Clear to move back over in front of me."
If I flash my brights at our windshield it means "You are blinding me, please dim your head lights."
If I flash my brights in your mirrors it means "Hey A##H### what the F you doing???"... This last one
usually follows a healthy dose of air horn, which you apparently desided to ignore... And dont tell me you can't hear my train horns backed by 1/2 airline and 120 psi.Rideandrepair, Eowyn, 650cat425 and 6 others Thank this. -
i always drive slowly in the left lane to avoid such light flashery. my mirrors are completely misaligned anyway so it’s whatever.
00lgt, Rideandrepair, Qbf594 and 4 others Thank this. -
Sometimes I have a truck with daytime running lights and no headlight interrupt. Even then, I just flash my marker lights for people to come over. Either they see it or they don't. But I'm not going to blind them.
Rideandrepair and Coffey Thank this. -
On the t680, if you push the turn signal lever towards the base of the steering column (down) it will interrupt the headlights. Then there’s a button on the end of the lever that flashes the marker lights. The headlight interrupt does the opposite of however the main switch is set. If the lights are off, pushing down the turn signal lever briefly turns the lights on. If the main switch is on, this function briefly turns the headlights off.
Back in the day, if we didn’t want to give the courtesy flash, we’d announce on the cb, your clear, you missed me, ok bring it back over if you want, etc. I seldom hear any such utterings anymore. I kinda miss those days. Back then, you’d meet guys on the road that could (and would) rattle off the location of every Smokey they’d seen that day. Sometimes the list would be rather lengthy. There were gator reports, slow truck coming out of pickle park reports, you name it, we communicated it. Now days, they’re more or less just back up radios. When a back up happens, there will be at least 140 drivers suddenly have a radio asking what’s going on up ahead.jinxutoo, Rideandrepair, LtlAnonymous and 7 others Thank this.
