Pharm,
I was gona say Shift Control Tower, but i see you have replaced it. Those Super 10's are notorius for problems. Buddy of mine has replaced his Shift tower twice and had all sorts of syncro problems with his. (You couldn't give me one)
I hate to be bearer of bad news but it sounds deeper than that.
Good Luck..

Then after you refill with new lube, you look for leaks every time you PTI, you look even closer every time you grease the truck, which should be 5K miles maximum. You physically check the level every time you do an oil change.
You maintain an awareness of how the transmission (and everything else on the truck) sounds and feels as you drive it.
And, not to sound too negative, but if you can't do all of the above, you shouldn't buy a truck to start with.Eskimo6804 Thanks this. -

All this talk about what Rob should have or shouldn't have done sounds like a bunch of monday morning quarterbacking to me. I have a lot of respect for Rob in his attempt to be a sucessful O/O. He has run into a lot of problems along the way, some of his own doing, some not, and some bad luck. Whenever you purchase a used truck, no matter how many questions you ask or how much you check a truck out it's still a lot like a crap shoot. No matter how well it's planned it still depends on a certain degree of luck. Anything mechanical can and will break. A variation of one of Murphy's Laws "If everything is going well then obviously I've overlooked something"

Candy coating stuff doesn't help anybody though. HE WANTS to do this, and in the end I hope HE CAN do this, I don't like to see anybody fail.
I read through and saw lowest pete's post. IMO he didn't deserve to be jumped on for what he said. He gave his honest opinion on the situation, and I saw him attack the mistakes.
It's fine and dandy to pat Rob on the back for trying, I give the man that, but he could learn a lot more, and save money, if everybody patting him on the back was also completely honest with him.
I really hope he gets it straightened out, I really do. And yes, I am patting him on the back for trying.Eskimo6804, Bogey, The Challenger and 1 other person Thank this.
