If I had a truck empty in Cali I’d prefer it be a reefer if that tells you anything.

I could only see the first part of the header "Is California a good place for....." before I clicked. 99% of the time, the answer will be no.

Lots of produce in Cali. Lots of sitting for prduce in cali. I'm not knocking it. But I will be honest at certain times of the year its nothing to wait 18 plus hours. For one pallet from the sourthen boarder. Or
Go to 9 shippers all over the state to get loaded.
I strickely trained on furniture. Go to Cali and produce coming back. It teaches us newbies about being humble. You can't just quite. And walk 3600 miles home.PE_T Thanks this. -
California is the capital of produce in the US. There are usually plenty of very good paying loads going out of there, but it’s hard to get a good paying load going in. In the end, it may be true that most loads pay the same once you average them out.
CA produce loads are well known for multiple pickups and possible delays waiting for your product to arrive. If you book your own freight, you’ll have control over how many pick ups your load will have, but sometimes even a one-pickup load can have you waiting many hours.Last edited: Jun 20, 2020

It's horrible, don't waste your time. We live in poverty and eat dog food out here, all because we only haul reefer in California.
feldsforever Thanks this.
