ever had to drag a trailer out on its landing gear because it was TOUCHING the trailers next to it and you could not raise the landing gear without pulling it out first.....?

Yes phroziac had to do that several times. Guess the thing I had going was A/R tractor with a dump valve. Dump the air, back under the thing, raise it up,hook it up, and leave. Aggravating as HELL! Used to hate yard jockeys too. Had 24.5 rubber on my tractor, they had 22.5 on theirs and too lazy to crank the dolly's up a little. PIA gettin under 45,000# with the trailer 2 low. GOT ER DONE though!

I remember going to a place just outside New Haven, CT and calling for directions. She gave me great directions except didn't bother to tell me about the 12'9 overpass just right before the warehouse. So I had to stop after going thru the last light. A local cop came up and asked "Let me guess? You're going over there to that warehouse?" Can't remember the name. I told him yes and he shook his head.
He stopped traffic had me back up thru the light and then escorted me to warehouse. He went in there and chewed the woman out saying "I'm sick of this. This is the 4th truck this week I've had to reroute because you won't give them the right directions."
Honest to God she looked at him and said the following, "Oh, he's in a truck???"
I thought the cop was going to go thru the roof.Shep Shiloh Thanks this. -

Dont look at it as a bad situation, look at it as a learning experience, a challenge and another story to put in the book.
Had to deliver to the Coplay Center (big office building) in downtown Boston in a OTR tractor and 53' van. Followed the directions which leads you to the entrance of the basement, parked the truck and walked down in there to find another OTR truck already in there and backed into a dock. figured if he could do it i was going to also. Had to drive in and blind side around all of these concrete pilings but couldnt get the nose of the tractor to clear one. Got out and took a look and figured out that if i drop the trailer and grab it form the other side i could back it right in. After i got it in the hole someone who has worked in the basement for years came up to me to tell me that in all of his years i was the first one to do that and that hes watch drivers spend an hour trying to get a trailer in that dock.
