I'm currently sitting in our lakeland terminal. I imagine I may get the same treatment after my delivery tomorrow.

From what I gather it is slow all across the industry. I heard Kenan has closed some terminals and laid people off. For the time being at least it seems like any income is better than the alternative.
Personally I’m not optimistic about the economy bouncing right back after the covid situation. I’m afraid a lot of small businesses are gone and not coming back anytime soon. -
Kenan dumped 30 guys here. Gone unemployed now. It's still kinda fishy who,and why they kepted who. Some had 15,20,25 yrs in. Others had 1-20 yrs experience. I think their was alot of favoritism for the ones choosen.

Two of my last three ventures out to the system ended the same week w/ a tank wash back to Pasadena. Four weeks ago I went to Port of Tampa and spent the night at Lakeland before going back to Pasadena only to be sent out the next day on a 1500 mile run from Kenedy, TX all the way to Allentown, PA. After that I bounced to Pedricktown, NJ where I waited for two days and picked up a load to Ohio and then spent two days at Cincinnati before getting a load down to Cape Girardeau, MO before tank wash back to Pasadena. This week I loaded in Kenedy, TX on Monday morning and delivered in Atlanta on Wednesday morning and then tank wash back to Pasadena again Thursday afternoon. It's like doing long out-n-back runs but it seems like Pasadena is one of the few places that's still busy so I'll take it vs the alternative!
They're installing the Peoplenet device in my truck tomorrow and hopefully they'll have something going back out Sunday or Monday. And yeah, the Pasadena terminal has become an obstacle course. I'm constantly amazed by how much calmer all of the other terminals seem to be by comparison.Speed_Drums and Orange713 Thank this. -

Well I can tell you there is nothing shaking up here in markham as far as loads. Going on day #4 of sitting and waiting on a load, according to Kankakee, there was a power outage or something at Stepan in Elwood IL. So there is about 12 drivers or so that has been up here with me all week waiting for the dam to break open!!
MYSTYKRACER and Orange713 Thank this. -
I went in yesterday to do the PeopleNet training and supposedly they were installing the device in my truck yesterday as well. I like the PeopleNet device better than heavy Qualcom but it's going to take a bit of getting used to at first. I don't like the fact that apparently there's no <5 mph "creep" w/ Peoplenet in an automatic truck. Apparently as soon as you hit the accelerator it automatically puts you on the drive line no matter what speed you're going.
And just as I figured I got a load going out Monday morning delivering to Atlanta on Wednesday. Hopefully I'll stay out for about 10 days and get back home for the 4th of July weekend. -
MYSTYKRACER I think we may have met at pedricktown when you picked up the ohio load? I was talking to someone this week or last next to the dispatch trailer. Those IFS and aguaflow*sp* runs have been somewhat frequent. I'm really hoping things pick up soon for the system guys. I'm just thankful we have the dedicated work at my terminal to keep us running.... I also believe we are pretty much set to be the last terminal to get the devices installed due to the lack of a shop at our dust bowl lol, think they are finally realizing how ummm different we operate. Let alone the junkyard of out of service stuff we have right now.
