I've been to some places pulling a tank that I had to make u-turns to get into a rack facing the right direction. Never took 45 seconds either. Another place we had to do a flip after we unloaded to get back out.
I did quite a few back in my door slamming days too. Just take it easy and watch my mirrors. I never have worked for a company that said anything about no u-turns.

I moved back to Michigan 3 years ago and started driving after being gone 35 years

My route out of town in Michigan required a few Michigan lefts. Frikin gps tried to get me to do a left and I actually hung one not remembering that we don’t do lefts up here.

    Brand new Rand McNally too.

My original name on this, the CBS, and other trucking sites that are no longer around was UTURN or Mr Upturn.
Used to always say on radio they call me Mr Uturn, because I always miss my #### street.
Dont no about swift or any other freight company. But in the moving business, sometimes the choice is. Bang a U'ey, or drive miles looking for a cross street.

Aight, you're gonna have to forgive me for the question I'm about to ask, but in the handful of times I've been in and out of the state, I never noticed anything ridiculously different from the rest of the country, so... what exactly is a "Michigan left," for those of us less experienced folks?

It’s not horrible and keeps the traffic moving.

We can still hang lefts down here in Naples Florida but in between lights there is a lot of spots in the landscaped medians to hang uturns.

Some genius decided we couldn’t do uturns at at lights anymore down here about 15 years ago.

Out of nowhere they no U turned all the intersections

To get out of my neighborhood and get going down to the boat ramp I had always whipped a uey at the light.

Halfway through my uturn one day with 50 feet of boat trailer behind me I see a newly erected no uturn sign

Cops were waiting in the Walgreens parking lot waving us violators in.

Cop asks me if I had seen the 2 no uturn signs.

I explained I didn’t see them until I was halfway through the intersection and I do this uturn daily

He than asks why I proceeded to do a uturn than

I am looking at him like Really ? What was I supposed to do with 25 feet of longbed crew cab daully pulling 50 feet of boat trailer . Stop and backup halfway through my turn

No break. 3 points 150 fine. First violation in 15 years.

2 months later Naples removed all the no uturn signs because everyone made such a stink

    Same with the redlight cameras.

Naples knows who writes their paychecks
