I agree, a straight 10 would probably be best for him but, with funds being very limited right now ,the main thing is to get him back on the road as cheaply and reliably as we can.

 

That's true, but if he needs a bunch or gears, sycros, shift forks, input shaft splies worn, and a bearing kit, a good used straight 10 would be cheaper.
