    The front differential finally came back from repair shop today.

    Here is the input shaft. Snapped clean.

    No broken pieces anywhere in the housing either.

    That’s why it was so quiet when I spun the driveline by hand. Like it was just in neutral.

    Honestly its that kind of stuff they should be showing in driver training. Too many driver's don't understand how much torque is behind the go-pedal in low gear. Trying to lock in a locker while in a first gear wheel spin on a muddy surface will tear stuff up so easily.

    Did the lifter fail or just the pump?

    Im going with part failure.

    If the lifter is intact, Id say the unit pump return spring failed.

    Bad thing is the block is junk .......most likely.
