Well, thats sound excellent. Maybe it's just electric starts to work better/sooner at a lower gain setting, & the hydraulic pump could take more voltage before the brakes seem to become effective.?
I have heard that too about some rams having issue with factory TBC..
The one thing I do like better about them straight electric vs EoH is this scenario right here:
So I blew an inside tire, & the gator smacked the brake hose on that wheel position. The hose necks down into a thin walled metal fitting, then goes into the brake caliper. Well it bent it pretty good, but I bent it back & all seemed well. Forgot about it, then months later during a good freeze in the winter the thin metal fitting split, & voila no trailer brakes. In an electric setup, it would have left me with 3 brakes instead of none. That was a fun run 70miles up the icy road with no trailer brakes grossing around 31k lb.. LoL
My new trailer

This week I used a little higher gain on the trailer and it made all the difference. I figured out my mistake, I was pressing too hard on the brake out of habit cause the truck was doing most of the braking till now and that would cause the trailer to jerk me to a stop with a higher gain. Had to relearn to be more gentle with the brake with a higher gain now that the truck and trailer were working in sync. 2.5 with 15k on the trailer and it stopped much much better.Lantraxco and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

Its the Buckeye Ultra Max hauler 53"
If you are considering this trailer my only piece of advice is to tell him to put 10' ramps instead of the 8' if you want to be able to load lower clearance vehicles.Lite bug and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

My trailer was the first of it's kind for Buckeye. I'm sure you can have the build adjusted to your needs. The buckeye max hauler low profile might be better suited for your needs.

What's the pin weight on it empty? And what is the hitch height needed for it to pull level?
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
My truck's hitch height is 42" but he customizes it to fit whatever your height is. He had to add a 6" steel box between the kingpin and trailer to fit mine and I wish he instead built the front at a more shallow angle to fit without it.singlescrewshaker Thanks this.
