And they're still pushin' the wheel for the man......I haven't been to a 'Diversity' or 'Sexual harassment' meeting in a while. Actually, i'm sitting at home because I wish to be sitting at home.

No knocks, Scooter. Just another way of looking at things, I guess.

I know of truckers , who have been in the trucking business for many years working and repairing their own equipment successfully usually. They still have problems with the dealerships

I realize a lot of times I sound harsh, but I don't believe in sugarcoating and "participating trophy" culture.
I think it's better for the Farmerbob to hear cold hard truth and get thinking about the next real steps, instead of wasting time and living in a fantasyland

$67k for a 2016 with 400k mile is making me wonder if its better to go Brand New with $150k higher payments more warranty & less headaches of breakdowns overall? I just find when trucks have been in the garage and get older it usually cost more overtime for multiple repairs. New is not for everyone of course because paying $605/week for 260 weeks @ 5% for a $150k truck is costly. However, I believe in a piece of mind with a full warranty covering major issues that could occur.

I have just seen new Volvo trucks with smaller sleepers selling for $127k.
IMO, yes, it is better to go with new

I just received an email this morning from the place where I bought my new 2016 VNL670 offering me a brand new 2020 VNL760 with a 500 HP D13 owner op spec'd, with leather package for 135k. That includes the FET.

    It's tempting ;-)

I'm guessing the battery Freightliner spec's is their Allied dual purpose battery. I can't get but two years out of them. The secret is to check Freightliners pricing about six months before you need them. They routinely have them on sale for 89.99.
I got hosed real bad in Ohio one time and have been replacing them every two years in December whether they need it or not. Lol
