When self driving cars become commonplace then you should start thinking about it. And I don't just mean Tesla, I mean when Ford, GM, Toyota etc all have self driving models available and they are regularly in use on the roads without major issue, then and only then do any of us need to think about being replaced. Not that it will happen, but we can start thinking about it then.
Even the above self driving cars need a butt in the seat. Truly autonomous cars with no driver will never happen without a dedicated road or rail system to accommodate them. -
My car has this lane keep assist feature where you can let go of the wheel and the car will do a pretty impressive job of staying in the lane...until it reaches a section of road where old lane markings are mixed with new ones then it spazzes out and starts beeping at me before heading for the guardrail.Dave_in_AZ and magoo68 Thank this. -
Speed_Drums Thanks this.

I enjoy driving too, but crawling along in rush hour traffic is not what I would call enjoyable driving. I would have no qualms about pushing a button and letting a computer do the crawling for me in those circumstances.

Funny how they choose to automate things that would save corporations billions rather than anything that would benefit society.
Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
