Hi fellows. I'm a 29 year old male from central Florida and I've been trying for the longest to get my CDL through a company school. Earlier this year I went to cr England's school but could not pass within 3 attempts and got sent home. Pretrip inspection did me in. However I do not want to give up on getting my CDL and am looking to get on with another companys school. Swift and Prime told me Florida was out of their hiring area and they couldn't help me. My application was denied by Wilson transport, Cypress Lanes and Stevens Transport . I am desperate and at my wit's end. Recruiters are not particularly helpful and give strange runarounds , are very unresponsive, or just not personable at all. I did great at cr England as far as skills and road driving but as I said pretrip did me in. I autofailed 123 air brakes test.

What other companies will take me into their school? Roehl couldnt help me. Covenant said I was out of their hiring area. Horrible experience with CRST recruiter. I have pending applications with raider express, Millis transfer, and TMC. Maverick said I was out of their hiring area. I put in an app with kllm too.

Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated . Stay safe folks

Sounds like you are going to have to foot the bill through a private school, for getting your license. Once you accomplish that, find a company that will reimburse you for all or part of your tuition.

Get your class B CDL, go to work with it somewhere, get more familiar with machinery and calmed down, then go after your Class A.

try calling some of those companies again, you should get a different recruiter each time.

there are reasons why you were denied at some companies. either your background, DMV record, or the way you speak to the recruiters.

if all else fails, as mentioned, you may have to go and apply for a student loan, grant, or even apply trhu your states work force program.

if at all else, @Chinatown will be here to help, i just rang his doorbell

Bite the bullet and try CRST again.
Be nice to the recruiter even if you hate every minute of it.
Don't mention anything about other companies rejecting your applications.

I don't think Millis, TMC, Maverick, Raider, hire out of Florida.
    Might luck out with KLLM.
How close are you to Tampa & Orlando?

I'm an hour away from each in both directions. Lakeland FL

And darn. I wish I had seen your post before contacting some of these people again. I have mentioned that I've been denied by other companies.

What are the chances Swift and Prime will hire out of Florida in the foreseeable future?

Regarding calling the companies and getting a new recruiter each time. When I talk to these people any other recruiter that picks up will transfer the call to my assigned recruiter. The drivers pulse app that these companies use tells what recruiter you have and there appears to be no way to talk to/work with a different recruiter. Quite frustrating

oh ok....i can recall a time when i had to deal with recruiters, and i always got a different one, and once i gave him/her my SS number, then they'd pull up my application.
