I’m planning to haul fuel soon and I’ve seen stations that are small and tough to get in or out of. How does it compare to say fast food restaurants McDonald’s Wendy’s etc whom also have tight lots. Dollar generals are small and I read on here a lot accidents as a result. Are small gas stations more difficult or equal to fast food restaurants dollar general. I’ve never delivered to dollar general or fast food places but doing otr I’ve definitely been to tight places.

you get to a place during morning go to work hours, and YOU WILL WAIT for the customers to leave.
so you may want to hit your stops that are difficult as early as possible.
tight corner lots, red lights, stop signs, people rushing to work, or gassing up on the weekends.bentstrider83, TokyoJoe, ronjeremyjr and 2 others Thank this. -
Don't forget people trying to run over your hoses, tweekers stealing your cones and fittings while you're in the store getting the bills signed, managers that want to argue your tank readings, winos rummaging through the cab of your truck if you leave it unlocked, people walking up to you with a lit cigarette to ask directions or beg for money, and people who park on top of the fills.
Did I mention people who try to run over your hoses?RockinChair, meechyaboy, 88 Alpha and 9 others Thank this. -
Yea. It the best part is you get to #### up traffic.

Working nights actually eliminates a lot of the listed problems. As for getting in and out of these small stations, the first time may be difficult, but once you learn how it needs to be done, every time after is easier. It always helps me to know that guys have been getting in and out of these stations for decades-no station is impossible. Can also ask the senior guys for tips on difficult stations.

No wonder a certain local fuel hauler puts up new ads every day looking for drivers. -
800 a week? That's not much of a wage but maybe it's average for the area you're in.
Left coast local tanker point to point work pays quite a bit better. Even the guys running local deliveries with a bobtail do alright.
We have a bobtail that does local work to farmers and construction sites that our big tankers can't get into or don't have the time to do. The truck works about five months out of the year The driver retired from here but comes back every year just for this job. Last year he grossed just over 42G for five months work.Redtwin Thanks this. -
It's not bad for local home everyday South Florida. The thing is you can make that doing much easier, less hazardous work.
No clue why they think anyone will deal with those headaches while hauling a mobile bomb around for the same money. -
TokyoJoe Thanks this.
