5 miles over a 600 mile trip is much less than 1/10th mph. Speedo gauges are hard to get accurate. A manufacturer was once queried about a speedo being off by a little under 1/2 mph. The reply: We can make you a perfectly accurate speedo, gonna cost you about $5000, tho. The real speedo in your ecm (not in the dash) is accurate only so long as your real tire rpm's are programmed in.

hey! can we get it loaded with all the scale-bypass routes? lol
-
Remember that the GPS uses distance tracking based upon lat/long.. your truck odometer may not be correctly calibrated. so the two may not be the same.
-
It also freezes up and does not record any distance information while recalculating the route. It'll do that up to 12 times in a row.
-
I bet you can hit reroute 10 m before the coops and it will do it. -
Whitch one are you talking about? -
The garmin unit.
-
Yes very Accurate, As one of the Beta Testers I can tell you it's only off by 1 tenth of a mile for every 650 miles so far.
-
I'm hoping this unit is as good as it looks so far. I've been using Copilot9 for over two years and had a few hard learned lessons with it. Love it when its right but hate it when its oops. Can't wait to hear some reviews and comparisons from this site.

I've had similar issues with Copilot Truck 11 and the same with PC-Miler. I run with the first two as well as the Tom-Tom and S&T 2009 with the Truck Stops and Wal-Mart overlay on my laptop to compare with the 3 rand units across my dash. So far the rand units have been far more accurate than any of the other units for truck routing. I have seen the rand units take me quite literally directly to the Shipper/ Receiver's front door step more the 95% of the time as well as letting me know what side of the street they are on. The Rand will tell you if your destination is on the left or right side of the street you're currently on. (This is a feature I have not seen mentioned here or provided in any other GPS unit).
Dave 1960 Thanks this.
