HAMMER Truck GPS Launches!

I'm getting very frustrated with Hammer. 3 major problems in the last 3 routing. 1 choosing closed roads and avoiding open roads. Specifically I255 is closed from I64 to I70, and it routed me that way. 2 Last trip routed me on non truck route, and btw, it was further than the truck route. 3 changing routing in the middle and choosing out of route. For example, avoiding US20/IN2, and running up I94 to US31, or once it accepts US20, but bouncing down I69 to Ft. Wayne, which added nearly 80 miles, and more importantly, i use it to figure eta, and last mile. If it won't route correctly, I can't calculate etc based on miles traveled and if it puts me through a residential neighborhood, I can't use it for last mile traveled.

Finally it has the location of my shipper, Alton Steel essentially 50 feet away, but on the other side of the fence. So right in front of the shipper, it wants to take me on a 5 minute spin around the block.

 

I feel your frustrations. I stopped using Hammer and went back to Co-Pilot. I like the overall design of Hammer but the pop-up to re-center the map after every change of the display is annoying to me. This only began occuring after the latest update. Once they get it fixed I will continue using Hammer.

 

I've been using Hammer for 3 months. Overall I'm satisfied. I had set it up to stay away from dirt roads and toll roads for a run to Chicago. It wouldn't show a route because of tolls. I know that there are no tolls on most of the route so I reset to include tolls. No problem. Took me to my destination.

Another glitch, which "could" be connected to my phone is when I stop for fuel or a 30. If I dont cancel and reload the route it will have me get off on every exit and reverse direction. I just reload during every stop.

So far, I'm not willing to pay for another app or buy a GPS.

 

I tried it again the other day. I was going from Fremont, IN to Toledo, OH. It was routing me down 69 through Ft Wayne to us24 back up to Toledo.

 

I use it in NYC and so far its fine.Nou hing to bad has happened.I will use my RM for target practice.I likr the Hammer,i did mk some sugg. And the syaff was responsive to them.Overall so far so god.

 

Exactly! If you don't know better it could add up to 80 miles doing that
