Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

I wonder where @Midwest Trucker went? Probably on vacation in the Bahamas.

 

I created my own spreadsheet where I track every load I run by date, broker, from & to cities, rate, deadhead miles, loaded miles, total miles, rpm gross & rpm net.

That same spreadsheet includes a breakdown of my fixed costs, variable costs, payroll including benefits & taxes, projected gross & net profit by the month.

Since it's something I created for myself, it's tailored to exactly how I do things and allows me to have real-time perspective on where I'm at anytime during the month.

 

One thing I've tried to do is to be honest with myself about deadhead miles in my 1 man operation. Those miles (in my opinion) need to be added into the overall equation, or you don't get a clear picture of how you're really doing.
