    Company probably doesnt "demand" it, probably ask for volunteers. Amd if the company is willing to pay for the possible wreck and has the insurance to cover it, AND they can find a driver to do it... more power to them.

    My family offered a livestock evacuation service for the cattle raiser associations in Tx. That is one of the services my Great Grandfather started in 1938 when he founded one of the first Bull Services in this area and southeast Missouri. We would go in hurricanes along the coastal bend to load and move any livestock to higher ground. So yes some drivers go do what has to be done.

    If I were him I would have been going up 281 or Hwy 16.

    Yeah I would have gone up 83 to Laredo. 281 wasn't much better than 77 during the storm.

    Sikeston. Great Grandparents pretty much owned everything around us 60 and 61 crossroads. He died in 1957 and the family donated a bunch of acres so the airport could expand. All was sold off by 1965 and they moved down here.
