Actually I've gotten nailed several times for asking directions from my wife over 2-Meter Repeaters around here. I've had to remind the "Air-wave Police" that it's "just directions" and I'm not making a delivery or anything.

I also just two weeks ago got pulled over by a deputy sheriff for talking on my new CB around 11pm along a county road. Fortunately here in Minnesota, we have an exemption for 2-way radios in our vehicles from the Distracted Driving laws. I got pulled over because I recently installed Stryker's new SR-A-10 mobile antenna which has blue LEDS that light when you key up. I was talking on SSB which made them flash and a flashing blue light on your vehicle is illegal unless you're a utility or public safety vehicle in MN.

I got off with a Warning.

No wonder you got pulled over doc..Otherwise he likely not paid attention..

Thought the sra10 was only good for 26-29 mgz?

Well CB is 27 MHz, so we're good. I've gotten the lowest SWR ever for a mobile antenna with that SRA10.

I dont trust any of the internal or most of the ext meters..
Swr (to me) is not overly important cause if your ant is resonant then chances are swr is fine..
Resonance and impedences come 1st in my book..

I did a short vid on youtube showing so...I use same name as here..

I'm in Fergus Falls right now. I should get on the 64 machine and ask for directions. See if I get my ### handed to me.

He's probably referring to the Cambridge, MN Repeater: 146.640 MHz, hence the "64" machine.

Russ, not to be an ***** but ham radio is as reliable as cb.

It takes two people to talk, and if you use 2m, just as I do daily, it matters what is around you and how far you are from others to communicate.

There is no magic to it, some people think but there isn't.

The difference is this - there are more people with CBs then with ham radios. CB is a single band, Ham is what? 24 bands?
