    I have done that (and heavier) before... But it is just so much easier to know that fully fueled I can roll across any scale in the country and not be hassled.

    I am super anal about setting my tandems so my load is balanced with the drives being about 500 more than the tandems, when legally possible. To me it looks more profesional. In my mind, when DOT sees an nicely cared for truck, and a nicely balanced weight distribution they should think "I'm not going to waste my time, this guy knows what he is doing."

    At western express it was a weekly issue. Always getting rolls of paper or lumber. My experience with landstar is the opposite, the loads are normally close but legal.
