I can just envision a whole trailer load of bagged chips after such an explosion... lol ... well, except they would all be in boxes... but you know at some point it’s happened. Every bag is blown open during the trip... LOL

 

Is that because the elevation drops slower? Or less up/down? I know about the elevation thing, just not all the in/outs of it.

 

It is more of an elevation thing.
The amount of air in a bag of chips is fixed. If the package was sealed at a lower elevation and carried to a higher elevation the air inside of the bag will swell against the reduced atmospheric pressure.

 

I know they haul potato chips in reefers over
I-70 to negate the pressure. I’ve seen a video of a western distributors truck doing it

 

This hill phoenix load to MT is taking longer than it should because somebody made the dock opening too low so gotta wait for a demolition crew to knock out some blocks to unload the coolers on my trailer since they are higher than the opening.

 

That is funny as hell, not for you though I bet.

 

Im thinking what they did is permanent. They found a metal beam behind the concrete blocks they knocked out and cut it with a torch to fit the coolers in. I imagine they will have to replace the beam for support reasons and will have to put it higher I hope. Speaking as an engineer, if they don't replace it, the bricks above will eventually sag and cave in and fall possibly hurting someone.

 

8am appt time, didn't get out til 230. In addition to the concrete blocks having to be knocked out they had to wait for a torch to be brought on site to cut out a metal beam that was behind the blocks. Supervisor said that problem was known for a long time and they waited til the last minute to do anything, holding up trucks because of it.
