Anyone from Allentown(ABE) on here doing LTL? Where do your routes take you?

Also those that run the I-80 toll road, where are you from?

    Thanks for any info.

I was looking more up in the Allentown area. Those companies are also hiring over by me, except for ABF which I haven’t seen around. Just wondering where the Allentown Linehaul drivers run.

Most LTL companies have a hub/breakbulk in the Harrisburg/Carlisle area so I’d say it’s a safe bet that you’ll be running there to start out.

I thought that might be a common route. I know SAIA has a terminal near me, and a bigger one about 80 miles away.. I wonder if that’s a bad thing. Same with Odfl they got two terminals at the exact same location.

Are doubles usually loaded near gross? I always see LTL guys doing pretty well in the hills of PA while I’m at 50 mph by the top of each little hill

That’s hard to say. It depends on the company’s accounts.

If they haul a lot of things like tile and chemicals, then linehaul loads will tend toward the heavier side.

    jmz and tallguy66 Thank this.

Also depends on where it’s going. I’ve noticed a lot of FxF barns that cover rural areas have heavy trailers with stuff like seed and pesticides for farmers, and bulk chemicals and heavy plastic packaging for meat packing plants.

McUzi, tallguy66 and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Pyle runs all 53' Ft with no doubles, from Allentown we run the Northeast as it is centrally located
