The ratchet load locks are better than the old manual ones at least, if you don't have secure tracks you have to settle for what you can.

I lost one of my good ratchets, one of the long ones, at the MS-13 place.

Dude obliterated it with the forklift.

Or change to a company that has equipment set up to do the job correctly?

Rivet some of these (or just get the 52 foot version from the local trailer supply) At an appropriate height and do the job right.

I dunno. It was a long one. There's certain places where you might wind up with 15 or more straps when the load is done.

I told Otter don't buy any straps. I knew where he was going after the load I loaned him 4 finished.

    But nooooooooooooooo.

You won't see many companies doing reefer with those load tracks, dry van they're common but there's no insulated walls to get destroyed by guys trying to be tough instead of just securing a load.

When I did dry van with Con-way (between CFI years) I definitely loved my straps. I do enjoy not dealing with the PITA that is hazmat though. As a company operator it just isn't worth the miniscule (if any) bonus.
