Probably a bad injector. Have only had to deal with a handful of these, all have been deleted. Havent seen it happen on a stock truck. We debated about sending out injectors during inframes to get them tested to prevent this, but all the diesel shops always say all the injectors are bad so not much point. We sent out a new and used injector once to a diesel shop for testing and got told both were no good, so no faith in the testing process.

Lol, wont be me fixing this. Its a job for one of the other guys. I'm in and out of work for awhile for harvest.

The danger off a bad delete or the danger off a delete?

Bad delete. Although there is very very few good ones out there. Seen some horrific programming and stuff done to engines. Haven't even seen a good paccar delete yet. Most of the big name ones run around full of codes and in derate mode.
Truck is a triaxle oilfield truck as well soooo its had a very easy lifeo_Oo_O

I've seen the odd wiggle wagon with a delete. Lets just say that the program they use uprates the power and the truck's weak link is already the transmission. Imagine how that works out

My 1997 Cummins 5.9 in my pickup is deleted. Catalytic converter removed and put in storage since 2008. :D

Power is up rated to 400 horse, approximately 1,300 tq, :)

This pickup is on its 4th clutch (2 factory clutches destroyed, a 500 horse single disc, input shaft destroyed and now it’s got a 650 horse double disc), and 3rd tranny rebuild.:eek:o_O

So far no holes in these old pistons. Factory head gasket still. ;)

I can imagine a big rig being the same depending on the driver behind the wheel.

Out of the whole fleet of trucks we have, only 3 trucks, a tractor, a roll off and a cement truck had their power boosted.

Only the tractor is driven by me.

650cat425, pushbroom and bluebob Thank this.
