Never trust the fuel guage....get a stick and watch mileage with fuel consumption figured below average.
Growing up in the desert, we were taught to never get below 1/4. I'mreally confused by these mega carriers that splash on 20-30-40 galllons making the driver wastethe logtime on fueling rather that driving.

Plus all the crap that collects in the bottom of the tanks over time ends up getting sucked thru ur fuel system when u run that low

It's easy. Mega's don't pay for the driver's time so they feel no need to care about said time. If they can put in 20 gallons of fuel to get to the next station so they can save 1 cent per gallon they see it as a win.
I also slightly blame the drivers for this too. After doing it once, it didn't take me long to always report 1/8 a tank of fuel every time I had to put in the amount.

Even when our "best fueling" comes through QC I follow my own planning. 9/10 they're fairly similar, but that 1 time is way out of wack.

Kinda surprised that's not the case already to be honest. Heck, they can get any other info about the truck....
