Hey gang,
I feel like I am running out of companies to apply to. It seems that having experience older then 3 years is like having none at all. It's crazy that they will take someone out of school over someone that has experience.
So the reason for my post here. If you are or know someone looking for a driver, or someone to team with them, look no further.
I drove OTR in the early 90's, then got off the road due to family responsibilities. Well the kids are grown now and I need a job.
Willing to run whatever is needed.
I have had my CDL A for 21 years, and have all the endorsements.
No tickets or accidents, clean DAC. Do not need benefits.
I am OK with hard work. I have Van, Flat, Tanker, Reefer experience.
In anyone is interested, please contact me. I am near Phoenix, AZ so obviously someone near there would be better for home time.
Take care, Larz

Companies are being picky with who they hire... You want a driving job? Don't wait for them to contact you... You contact them. Do it on a daily basis. Your in Phoenix, make a personal appearance at the SWIFT & KNIGHT terminals. Let them know that you are interested in working... Waiting around waiting for them to call isn't showing them interest.
A couple years ago they were calling driver with hopes that they'd go drive for them. At that time it was the driver's market place. It is now swapped.... They choose who they want, not just who they can get. Get your butt down to the terminal & show them that you want to work!!! That is the only way your going to get hired right now.jerryy123 Thanks this. -
I got hired by Werner, went to the orientation, and got called to go with a trainer. The company I worked for 3 years ago did not verify my experience so I was DQ with them. I got that taken care of then they asked for other paperwork which I supplied and I have been calling daily for 3 weeks now. The big companies don't do anything without the corporate office.

I had to call and confirm every application to get any response.
Try FFE they seem to be hiring anyone with a pulse, Gainey if they run out there, and if you get really desperate consider a lease thats about all I can offer. Heartland has a refresher program but not sure if its currently in operation. -

Have you tried McKelvey yet? I would keep on Knight vs Swift ... and try to get on intermodal if you can get your foot in the door

OK, it's time to get aggresive in your search. Go down to Loves there exit 162 on the I-10 and talk to drivers fueling and coming and going. Just simply ask if they know anyone hiring. Do not bogg them down with extended conversation and "poor me attitude". Also, stop by all the dealers (McCandless Int'l, Kenworth and the rest in Phx) and talk to O/O's getting there trucks serviced. This is called "networking". Talk to as many drivers as you can, all day long, at as many truck stops as you can, as many days as you can. Do not babysit the phone waiting for companies to call you. Have you been to every company (trucking) in Phx in person to apply? Have you been to Ruan,Market Transport, May, McKelvey, First Fleet, Northland, Watkins/Sheppard, USA truck, Venture, Dowdell, SLT, Tru-Line, Knight, Swift, M.Bjorn Peterson, Heritage Trucking and more that I can't think of? You gotta get out there and beat the bushes and sell your self. You know you're the best, just convince THEM, right?
