Coolant level sensor

I don't know about your truck but on my truck it's an actual sensor that is screwed into the top coolant tank.
You have to unscrew and replace that. -
Mine is on bottom with a zip tie between the sensor and tank just don’t want to cut it and then that’s not it just a bit nervous

If you can you should post a picture of that.
Sorry I can't help I don't know anything about that year or make of truck but I find it odd that it's on the bottom.
It should be at the top so that if the level goes down at all the light comes on and tells you to add so that you can add right away before any damage can happen.
If I'm understanding you correctly you may be looking at something else. It really should be right at the top of the tank somewhere.magoo68 Thanks this. -
If its just a zip tie holding in a sensor then I really question Paccar's engineering department. Post a picture of it, chances are it threads in and the zip tie is just there to support the harness at the plug.

. We have the same engine. Unplug the sensor at the bottom of coolant tank , it should turn like 1/4 turn and pop out..

Did it fix the alarm going off ? May have to replace surge tank
