I'd say that ELD shouldn't be the very reason to buy a glider. "Only" a bonus but a precious bonus.
A glider would be a truck to last till retirement with relatively inexpensive overhaul or another reman engine swap.
Unlike a brand new truck to be replaced for another new after 500 K miles/5-6 years.
Alternatively, you can buy older pre emissions trucks and work on them as their break or fall apart but for that you need a good buddy friend mechanic and also a trucker friend to lend you his truck with a tow bar.
A glider is essentially brand new truck with a reman engine - that's supposed be like new, especially, if made by the very factory that also gives warranty for it.

I have a good friend who bought a Harrison Glider a couple years ago. He told me he regretted it. Many issues and his fuel mileage was no where near what he was told it would be.

He dumped it and went back to a new emissions truck, even though he was completely upside down.

    Wow!
Well I don't have a friend who purchased a Harrison glider and shared his first hand experience with me like that so I guess I have to keep your post in mind.

As with anything, take it with a grain of salt. He was really influenced by some guy on the radio who has a show. Can't remember his name right off the top of my head.

Every day i thank God for paper logs. Don't wanna work more than 12-14 hrs anyways but it's nice to sleep in your own bed not 50-100 mi away at a shipper

50-100 miles I'd simply PC home regardless of nothing. I would not stay overnight at a truck stop 2 hours away from home either. - I'd PC too. I try to be reasonable and use common sense about these HOS rules.

Come the end of September with the new 150mi rule (+8 days a month you can go outside that) were looking to get away from logs all together. Living a long the 81 corridor sets us up in a prime location for that
